Amanda & Family

Amanda’s family session was a very overcast day at Luther Glass Park in Peachtree City Georgia. The clouds were so thick that Amanda even asked me if we had enough light do the session with. If you have not been to Luther Glass Park it is such a lovely nature-esque park with an abundance of trees, an adorable gazebo overlooking the water, and of course golf cart paths complete with 2 bridges that I obviously had to take advantage of! The whole time we were shooting we had to keep taking breaks to let the golf carts pass through. Luckily the residents of Peachtree City are some of the nicest folks around! They never seemed inconvenienced by us blocking the paths and even made jokes about being in our way. I honestly think they enjoyed watching the session as much as I enjoyed shooting it!

I usually do not take many family sessions but Amanda is an old friend of mine since high school. We go through times where we lose contact for a while but we always seem come back to each other. I have watched her and all of her children grow up so when she asked me if I would take some family photos for her I just had to!

Fun fact: Amanda’s mom took my maternity photos when I was pregnant with my first child 17 years ago. It may be one of the first times I discovered my love of photography. So in a way we have always been connected by photos.

Ok, so can I just say how great Amanda did with coordinating outfits and colors? Seriously her whole palette is perfect for her family’s skin, hair and also our ‘almost’ fall trees. This session took place during the part of fall where Georgia was a bit confused on if we were still in summer or if we had moved onto fall. So the trees were still fairly green but also starting to turn in spots.

I am seriously very honored that Amanda trusted me to take such important photos of her family at this time in their lives. As a mom I know how important it is to have these family photos. I look forward to keeping in touch and taking their photos again next year!

P.S. Amanda’s oldest daughter Destiny is a senior this year and I am photographing her senior photos in a few weeks. Be on the lookout for that blog, I am positive she is going to be ah-mazing!
